Mumbai, Jan 25: In light of Republic Day, a cancer screening camp was organised for Maharashtra Police personnel at the Versova Police Station on January 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, reinforcing the message of service to the nation through health and well-being. The initiative was conducted under the aegis of the Maharashtra Police Boys Association, with support from UE Lifesciences.

Approximately 100 police personnel participated in the camp and underwent breast and oral cancer screening, aimed at promoting early detection and preventive healthcare among frontline workers who play a critical role in maintaining public safety.

The screenings were conducted using advanced, non-invasive technologies including iBreastExam (iBE) for breast cancer detection and Oral Cancer Assessment (OrCa) for oral cancer screening, enabling quick and reliable assessments.

Speaking about the initiative, ACP Shri Kalpana Yashwant Gadekar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, D.N. Nagar, said, “Today at the Versova Police Station, a breast and oral cancer screening camp was organised for both women and men by the Maharashtra Police Boys Association in collaboration with UE Lifesciences. It was a very positive and meaningful experience. Regular screening, especially for women above the age of 35, is extremely important. Early detection helps identify cancer at an initial stage, allowing timely treatment and significantly benefiting patients.”

The initiative was led by Founder Shri Rahul Bhaiya Dubale, with support from Mumbai President Shri Ritesh Gosavi, Vile Parle Taluka President Shri Vaibhav Shinde, and Senior Police Inspector Ms. Deepshikha Ware, who was present at the camp. Their collective efforts reflect a strong commitment towards prioritising the health of police personnel who dedicate their lives to serving the nation.

By aligning preventive healthcare with the spirit of Republic Day, the initiative highlighted the importance of safeguarding the health of those who uphold the values of the Constitution, while reinforcing the role of early cancer detection in saving lives.
