Bhubaneswar, November 5: On Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo met with V. Sriram, the Managing Director of Nabadiganta Institute, for a courtesy call and discussion. Also present at the meeting were Sushil Kumar Lohani, the Principal Secretary of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, and Atul Sijia, the CEO and Founder of Nabadiganta Institute.
Recently, displacement due to mining activities has become a significant issue in the state. To address this, the government has taken immediate steps and set up a task force under the leadership of the Deputy Chief Minister.
The task force will work on creating permanent employment opportunities for displaced workers and focus on reducing their numbers. In collaboration with the state government, Nabadiganta Foundation will directly engage with these workers to provide livelihood options tailored to their skills.
