Kolkata, Aug 12: Bangla Zee 5 announced that they will be premiering their upcoming original film Nibba Nibbi on 14th August, 2026. An interactive session was held at Canteen Grub & Pub, City Centre involving the film’s cast and creative team including Sauraseni Mitra, Rishav Basu, Shankar Chakraborty Shantilal Mukherjee, the film’s director Tathagata Mukherjee and other members of the creative team.
During the session, they spoke about their experience of portraying morally complex characters, bringing the unconventional story to life and shared their excitement ahead of the film's release.
Nibba Nibbi is a darkly comic adventure that combined elements of thriller, road drama and humour. The film follows the story of a ruthless and toxic young couple who found themselves in possession of a hard drive containing the darkest secrets of the people in power. What began as an escape soon turned into a violent and darkly comic road trip across Bengal, where love, power, betrayal and hypocrisy collided in unexpected ways.
“Nibba Nibbi is a story that allowed us to explore dark humour, adventure and thriller within the chaos of a road journey. The characters were unpredictable and their choices kept pushing the story into unexpected situations. We wanted to create a film that was entertaining on the surface while also exploring relationships, ambition and the darker side of human behaviour. I am excited for audiences to experience this unusual journey”, said Director, Mr Tathagata Mukherjee.

Nibba Nibbi is going to feature on screen the actors Sauraseni Mitra & Rishav Basu for the first time. The Film will offer the audiences a fresh and engaging cinematic experience with its bold storytelling and distinctive treatment.
