This partnership will be directed towards three core areas: expanding Zypp’s operations into Tier-2 cities, innovating and scaling women-centric delivery programs, and growing the EV Training Academy to train riders, especially women, to operate and maintain EV fleets. These initiatives are designed to democratize EV adoption, empower the gig economy, and enable sustainable livelihoods.

Jonathan Berman, CEO at Shell Foundation said: “Shell Foundation looks for businesses that are meaningfully improving livelihoods while reducing emissions. We are proud to partner with Zypp Electric, which is providing opportunities for women and youth in the transport sector, committed to scaling to less-served communities, and contributing significantly to the green economy in India.”

“At Zypp Electric, our mission goes beyond building the largest EV fleet; it’s about creating an equitable and sustainable mobility ecosystem for all. With the support from Shell Foundation, we’re looking to expand into new markets, plan to empower women entrepreneurs in the gig economy, and scale our EV Training Academy initiative to train the EV workforce of the future,” said Akash Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO, Zypp Electric.

Zypp Electric has already achieved major milestones, including completing 50 million green deliveries, deploying over 20,000 EVs across multiple cities, and offsetting more than 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. With a vision to deploy 1 million EVs by 2030, Zypp aims to lead India’s transition to clean logistics. This partnership with Shell Foundation marks a pivotal step in scaling operations, empowering women in mobility, and ensuring that the benefits of the green revolution reach every corner of the country.
