RVNL Receives Letter of Acceptance from East Coast Railway for INR 161.02 Crore Signalling Project

New Delhi, 22  Aug 2026: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from East Coast Railway for the provision of Multi-Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) to increase reliability in the Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) section from Machapur (MZY) to Khurda Road Junction (KUR) and at Rajathgarh Junction (RJGR), Joranda Road (JRZ), Sadashibapur (SSPR), Dhenkanal (DNKL), Hindol Road (HND) and Talcher Road (TLHD) stations under the Khurda Road (KUR) Division of East Coast Railway, Odisha. The project covers railway infrastructure across Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul and Khordha districts of Odisha, with Khurda Road Division serving as the operating division.

The project includes alteration of Electronic Interlocking (EI) systems at 17 railway stations across Odisha, covering Bhubaneswar (BBS), Hindol Road (HND), Bhubaneswar New (BBSN), Mancheswar (MCS), Talcher Road (TLHD), Rajathgarh Junction (RJGR), Sadashibapur (SSPR), Dhenkanal (DNKL), Machapur (MZY), Gurudijhatia (GJTA), Charbatia (CBT), Salegaon (SQQ), Nergundi Junction (NRG), Cuttack Junction (CTC), Barang Junction (BRAG), Retang (RTN) and Joranda Road (JRZ). The work involves EI systems of various makes, including HITACHI Rail STS India Pvt. Ltd., MEDHA Servo Drives, Siemens Rail Automation (P) Ltd. (WESTRACE MK-I and MK-II), and KYOSAN.

The project has been awarded by East Coast Railway in the normal course of business of the Company. The total contract value is ₹161,02,45,230.24 (including applicable taxes), and the project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

Commenting on the development, the Official Spokesperson of RVNL said, “This Letter of Acceptance from East Coast Railway reflects RVNL’s continued commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure through the deployment of reliable and advanced signalling systems. The provision of MSDAC across the identified sections and stations will contribute towards enhancing signalling reliability and operational efficiency. We remain committed to supporting the modernisation of Indian Railways through timely and effective execution of strategically important projects.”

The scope of work involves provision of MSDAC to enhance reliability in the ABS section from MZY to KUR and at identified stations of the Khurda Road Division, along with the required alterations in the existing Electronic Interlocking systems. The project will contribute towards strengthening signalling infrastructure and improving reliability across the identified railway sections and stations.
