Aug 25: Bringing together more than a decade of sushi expertise with the ease of contemporary delivery, KURO; Sushi & Asian Kitchen is a premium, delivery-first Japanese & Asian kitchen with sushi at its heart. The brand was born from a long-standing relationship with Japanese food, but was created specifically for the way people eat today. Its menu moves from nigiri, aburi, signature rolls and hand rolls to tartares, carpaccios and izakaya-style plates, while also covering donburi, poke bowls, curries, woks, teppanyaki, dim sum and baos.
The name KURO, meaning “black” in Japanese, reflects the brand’s understated and distinctive personality. More importantly, KURO is sushi-led, but not sushi-only. It brings together beautifully crafted sushi and hand rolls with comforting Japanese & Asian favourites, creating a menu that works equally well for an indulgent meal or a regular weekday order. The focus is on premium ingredients, strong culinary technique and consistency, without making premium dining feel limited to special occasions.
The kitchen is backed by an experienced culinary team. Chef Anil leads the sushi kitchen, bringing over a decade of experience as Sushi Sous Chef at Town Hall, supported by Chef Riniya. Chef Gaurav Juyal, also a Town Hall veteran, heads the hot kitchen, while Chef Arjun Sethi, formerly with The Oberoi, oversees the wider culinary programme at Ambrosia Hospitality. Together, the team brings Japanese precision to a menu designed to appeal to a wider range of diners.
Sourcing remains central to the sushi offering, with KURO working with select suppliers and using the highest grade of sushi fish available, with fresh fish arriving approximately twice a week. Attention is given to every fundamental ; from sushi rice and temperature to balance, knife work and the handling of fish. The brand also places strong emphasis on vegetarian sushi, with options such as Green Dragon, Arugula Truffle, Kale Maki, Shojin and KURO Avocado & Asparagus giving vegetarian diners a substantial selection.
Among the must-try dishes are the Aburi Salmon Nigiri, Chutoro Tartare, Ikura Salmon Hand Roll and Shokunin Roll, while the Soho Aromatic Duck Pancakes showcase KURO’s wider Asian influence. The menu also extends into Salmon Donburi, Chicken Katsu Curry, Tofu Katsu Curry, Khao Suey, Hainanese Chicken, dim sum, baos, noodles, rice, curries and wok dishes, making it easy to build an order around different cravings.
Currently operating from Greater Kailash Part 1 with its complete menu and from Geetanjali Enclave through KURO Select’s capsule menu, the brand delivers across a large part of South and Central Delhi and is available on Zomato and Swiggy from 12 noon to 11:30 pm daily. With Gurgaon planned towards the end of the year and further Delhi NCR locations to follow, KURO is taking a measured approach to expansion, keeping food and delivery consistency at the centre. The ambition is clear ; to bring restaurant-quality Japanese & Asian food home and make it a dependable part of the city’s delivery repertoire.
